PROGRAM NOTESPercussion Discussion is a show for kids. Make sure you take a moment to watch the real show: the kids. They jump, bounce and wiggle in their seats to the pulsating rhythms of the drums. You too may allow yourself to fall victim to the rhythm. For an hour, you can remember what it is like to be a kid. Laugh, giggle, and for a moment, feel the spirit and wonder of childhood. -- Ken Bergmann Society has a stereotype of drummers, an image best personified in Rob Reiner's film "This is Spinal Tap." An IQ in the low 60s, a minimal concept of social skills and poor table manners. Drummer jokes are as rampant in the industry as lawyer jokes are in the mainstream. "I'm in a 4-piece band ... three musicians and a drummer." "How can you tell when the stage is
level? It is the intent of Percussion Discussion to enlighten those that have fallen victim to this stereotype. |
